One of the most famous and well-tended gardens and grounds in the country is that of the White House, the residence of the President of the United States of America. These grounds are especially beautiful in the autumn months. An exciting new addition to the grounds is that of the vegetable garden that is being harvested now. On March 20th, 2009 First Lady Michelle Obama broke ground on the new Kitchen Garden which is an addition to the South Lawn. With the help of some local 5th graders, she planted many different vegetables that have already yielded more than 400 pounds of produce.
